This Uji matcha is specifically crafted for the preparation of usucha (thin tea). It offers a robust yet agreeable profile, delivering an experience characterised by fresh, delicate green notes, complemented by a subtle astringency and a creamy undertone. For optimal flavour extraction, it is recommended to use water heated to 80-85°C, as lower temperatures tend to accentuate more astringent tastes.

The term Matsukaze "松風" translates to "pine wind." This compound word combines the characters for "pine" and "wind." Within the context of traditional tea ceremonies, the sound produced by boiling water in the tea kettle is poetically compared to the gentle wind rustling through a pine forest, evoking a serene and contemplative atmosphere.
